Gateway Performance Productions

Sandra Lee Hughes,Michael Hickey and Gregory Ornas, the company was originally named Great American Mime Experiment. GAME soon began touring internationally and in 1975 established a venue dedicated entirely to the art of mime called The Second Story Theatre in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
In 1978 Hughes and Hickey returned the company to Atlanta and began performing in masks. By 1991, GAME had expanded to include mask theatre, dance and cultural arts programming and renamed itself Gateway Performance Productions. 35 new productions have been produced by the company.

In September 2000 Gateway established The MASK Center in Atlanta — a unique performing arts facility and community resource designed to educate the public concerning the artistic, cultural and historical significance of theatrical masks through performances, workshops, exhibits, classes and demonstrations.

Gateway has performed in 30 states in the U.S. and 12 other countries.
